Private Matters

The internet presentation of private information and personal data is highly ambivalent to me.

On the one hand, it goes without saying that any achievement in life is bound to persons rather than institutions, and that human interaction is alleviated by personal contact, by mutual confidence based on it, and by knowledge about each other.

On the other hand, the borderline to exhibitionism may be quite small, too small in fact, when presenting personal and private information, particularly when this happens in some uni-directional anonymity.

This presentation of some selected pictures, chosen from different periods of my (academic) life, complemented by a list of relevant biographical data, seems to me an acceptable compromise.
